Micah - Director of Heritage Square

A Kansas native, Micah obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Family Studies and Human Services from Kansas State University in 2016.  She has since completed additional coursework towards a Master’s in Family and Community Services with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction. Through the course of Micah's educational career at Kansas State, and later as a Lead Infant Teacher, she gained valuable knowledge and experience, and is therefore is a well-suited mentor for the teaching team at Heritage Square. Some of her favorite undergrad, graduate, and speciality courses include: Human Growth and Development, Working with Parents, Early Childhood Education, Observation and Assessment, Becoming an Effective Parent, Brain Basics, Positive Behavior & Guidance, Interpersonal Relationships, as well as Program Administration and Management.

Micah is extremely passionate about interpersonal relationships, ages zero and up! Her empathetic nature, education, and professional background have specialized her knowledge in understanding the family dynamic. During her tenure as an Assistant Director at Grand Mere, Micah gained valuable insight into program development, evaluation, and management; all of which are vital in her role as Director. Micah's background in these areas have not only provided her with the knowledge needed to track infant, toddler and preschool development, but also to afford young children a positive learning environment that is developmentally appropriate, to fit each child’s individual growth and needs.
